Is everyone working hard to get ready for FCAT? There is a lot happening in the schools right now to prepare students at the last minute. Just don’t stress the kids out! They need to do their best and should not fear the FCAT.
If you haven’t done longitudinal analysis of your AYP subgroups or the cells of your school grade, this is a good time to gather that data for the past 3 to 4 years.
In June, when your data is returned, you will be ready to add the 2009 year to that analysis. Some areas to track are Learning Gains in Reading and Math, Proficiency in Reading, Math, Writing and Science. You can track these by grade level and by demographic subgroups. Think about the demographics of your school and determine what demographic subgroups you are struggling to make minimum state targets. That would be a good place to start.
For SnapShot I have been having online discussions with users. You can join one of these by contacting me at mgainer@studentperformance.com.
